Dell is a cheerful and talented-ten-year old girl living in Kentucky. Her father was a coal miner but when the mine closed, her family had to leave their home in the Appalachian Mountains. Dell’s father and brothers make beautiful guitars in their new town. Dell and her mother still visit their old neighborhood, bringing food and blankets to friends in need. Dell loves walking the high trails, which make her feel like she 'swallowed sunshine'. She tries hard to share that feeling by writing and singing her own songs. Maybe then she can show people the true beauty of her mountains. Dell is the cheerful and musically talented girl living in Kentucky with a voice that can move mountains. After moving away from her home town when the mine her father worked at closed, Dell started a knitting group to make hats for her old neighbors in need. Dell and her mother visit their old mining town bringing food and the hats from Dell’s knitting group to help their friends endure the cold winter. She loves singing and songwriting about her beloved mountains and touching hearts through giving kindness.
